    The Australian Government Department of the Environment and Heritage needs to fill the following vacancies on either an ongoing or non-ongoing basis:

    Web site manager (APS 6), Web site project officer (APS 5):
    The key duties of the positions are:
    • apply best practice web, Australian Government and DEH standards, policies and procedures for web sites
    • assist in the development and maintenance of the information architecture, consistent user experience, search optimisation and content mark-up of new and existing DEH web sites

    To successfully fulfil these roles, you will need to:
    • demonstrate highly proficient image manipulation, PDF authoring, XHTML coding and CSS2 coding skills
    • demonstrate practical experience in implementing, and thorough understanding of, best practice web standards

    Web writer, information architect and usability advisor (APS 6):
    The key duties of the position are:
    • develop, review and optimise the information architecture, user experience, and content of new and existing DEH web sites
    • develop and manage projects (including contract management as well as liaison with DEH staff and clients) to initiate, review or (user) test web sites

    To successfully fulfil this role, you will need to:
    • demonstrate theoretical and practical understanding of information architecture, user centred design and web site usability plus have experience in web site user testing
    • demonstrate highly proficient web writing skills
    • demonstrate XHTML coding experience and knowledge of CSS2
