Do you want to see a change in direction for Australia in 2007?

    Opening for a Web Developer

GetUp.org.au -- the rapidly growing new progressive political campaign group -- is searching for a technically savvy, politically aware Web Developer to join its small young team. This is an exciting opportunity to put your technical skills to work for real change in Australian politics. This full time role based in Sydney on an initial 12 month contract.

In its first twelve months, GetUp.org.au has signed up more than 160,000 people, a number greater than the membership of every political party combined.

GetUp's Web Developer will be responsible for ongoing technical realization of GetUp’s online campaigning and use of technology. The Web Developer will work closely with the Online & Outreach Director and other members of our small team to:
    • Help produce online and email based marketing campaigns around political issues.
    • Personally provide some ongoing development of GetUp’s web applications to deliver GetUp’s online content, social networking, and email campaigns – including through new micro-sites.
    • Develop and integrate new applications and mash-ups such as mapping, IP telephony, text messaging, donation systems, liaising as necessary with freelance programming and design contractors etc.
    • Coordinate with the provider of GetUp’s managed web hosting infrastructure

GetUp is an unusual organisation requiring a talented, creative and technically adept (esp. at PHP) Web Developer. Remuneration will be highly competitive for the sector. We welcome applications from individuals with varying levels of experience – skill/talent is more important. The role is based in GetUp’s funky
offices above a pub in the Sydney CBD.

If you're interested, please email a short resume and cover letter explaining why you think you would be a good fit for the role. We'll accept applications until February 30th, however please apply ASAP as interviews will begin immediately.
