    Port80, the social and networking event brought to you by AWIA, is on tonight in a new venue with 10 minute mini-talks by two speakers.


    • Brian Madsen (aka Deprecated Cruelty on the Port80 forums) will be talking about the new Web designer suite - Expressions from Microsoft

    • Myles Eftos (aka Madpilot on the Port80 forums) will be giving a presentation entitled "Out of the way JSON - if CSS can be unobtrusive, so can JavaScript".



    Where: The Velvet lounge (Next to the flying Scotsman), corner of Walcott St and Beaufort St, Mt Lawley
    When: Wednesday 7th February from 6pm
    Cost: Free!

    After the conclusion of the mini-talks, the usual Port80 format - beer, wedges, geeky chat and complaining about clients, more beer - will continue.

    They went well. I took a couple of photos - http://flickr.com/photos/kaysmoljak/tags/minitalks/ - and we'll be posting the audio with transcriptions shortly, hopefully.

    The feedback so far has been positive, so we'll definitely be doing some more. Now, if only I could think of a topic... :D
