    On my blog Interior and Health I have problem with left margin is sidebar.

    Any idea about browser computability if I go with margin:-10px style?

    I would actually try de-indenting <ul> by setting margin and padding to 0px rather than using negative values. Just don't forget to set them back to defaults if you need them later.

    I don't have problems using negative values where needed. but as suggested by villiam, it is a good idea to reset the browser defaults for most of the tags that have some default padding value.
